Nothing Special

Listening to Fiona Apple.

Things to do:

1.Finish cleaning out the closets.

2.Put the laundry away, and finish up washing the rest.

3.Work on linking the old journal entries.

I hate whineing. I hate to hear it, I hate to experience it. I have a toodler who does it and it drives me insane. I wish there was a cure for it.

Yesterday Jeff and I took Wild Child to her very first movie in a theater. We went to see TARZAN, a new Disney movie. We   both had feelings that she would not be able to sit through the movie or that she would act up in some way. Boy were we wrong! She was wonderful. She sat through the entire one hour and thirty minute show without fidgeting, crying, or talking insessantly. I was impressed.

The movie was really good, in fact I was surprised on how good it was. Disney has done another fabulous job and the music by Phil Collins is some of the best Disney music I have ever heard. I thought the movie was too intense for small children, especially Wild Child's age (two and a half) but she sat through it without acting scared. Other children in the theater however did act afraid and cried during certain moments of the film.

TARZAN is wonderfully and realisticly animated and the characters have depth. I don't know if small children will understand the whole plot of the film, especially since a good portion of the begining is about depth. The begining of the movie opens up with a gorilla family enjoying their baby that is soon eaten by a cheetah. Though it does not show anything horrificly graphic, it does however give you a sense of loss, setting the mood for the rest of the movie. There were several times in the movie that I got a little choked up and some adults and children were crying during the film.

If you are a big Disney fan I don't believe you will be disappointed with this film, I do recommend going to see it on the big screen instead of waiting for it to come out on video. Watching it on video is going to diminish some of the effect of the movie.

Before going to the movie we went by the house to look at the carpet and new kitchen floors they put in. We found several flaws and you can see the seam in the carpet in the living room. So more bitching on Monday.

The new gossip around the neighborhood is that our neighbor down the road pulled a gun out on the the phone company because they were digging up the easement of his property to lay down new telephone lines. From the way I heard the story, he cocked this automatic rifle of his and threaten to pull the trigger. The men, being scared out of their wits, jumped in their truck and called 911. Well, the neighbor has a scanner and heard that the sheriff was coming, so he left, coming back several hours later. The phone company is pressing charges, but I don't believe it is going to do any good.

Guess what? My friend Stacy is going to start her on online journal. She has more interesting life than me and I think she will be immensely popular. She is going to call her journal Insanity's Place. I don't know when she will get it up, hopefully in the next week or two.
